Carbon steel elbow specification introduction

Jun. 29, 2019

Carbon steel elbow specification introduction as following:

Elbow dimensions:

There is a classification of pipe number in the size and specification of elbow and size head, including G30, G60, G100 and G140:

There are three ways to express the wall thickness of pipe fittings: pipe number, pipe wall thickness and pipe weight:

1. The pipe table number "Sch" is used to indicate the wall thickness.

The pipe table number is the value multiplied by 1000 times the allowable stress of the material under the design pressure and design temperature and rounded.

Namely: the Sch = P / [united] t * 1000

According to ANSI B36.10 standard

Wall thickness: Sch10, Sch20, Sch30, Sch40, Sch60, Sch80, Sch100, Sch120, Sch140 and Sch160;

Wall thickness grades: Sch5s, Sch10s, Sch40s and Sch80s;

2. The steel pipe wall thickness is adopted in China, ISO and Japan

3. Pipe wall thickness is expressed by pipe weight, which divides pipe wall thickness into three types:

A. standard weight tube, expressed in STD

B. Thickened tube, denoted by XS

C. Extra-thick pipe, denoted by XXS.

For pipes with DN≤250mn,Sch40 is equivalent to STD,DN
